Please President Obama, don’t send “help”

I just read in the newspaper that President Barack Obama is deeply troubled over violence in Teheran. Let’s just pray that he doesn’t decide to help Iran in the same way USA has helped Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wonder if USA’s president Barack Obama is similarly troubled over the violence his own army is creating in neighboring Iraq and Afghanistan. Roughly one million Iraqis have been killed after the American led invasion started in 2003. More than two million Iraqis are seriously injured and between four and five million people are permanently displaced from their homes.

Everything in ruins
Today Iraq’s political system is in complete ruins.

Iraq’s energy and road infrastructure have broken down completely. People in Bagdad have electricity only a few hours every day.

Water resources in Iraq are destroyed, leading to a rampant cholera epidemic.

Hospitals outside American army bases lack everything from medicines, water and electricity.

Violence has never been more widespread after the Iraqi army has been dispersed and their weapons distributed among a frustrated, tormented, hungry and unemployed population.

Unemployment has never been higher in Iraq; and is around 40 percent among young men.

In fact people’s lives were probably better; their future hopes were higher when Saddam Hussein was in power.

We're being fed bullshit
President Barack Obama may have been fed the same bullshit story about what is happening in Iraq that the rest of us have. That may be the reason why he is more troubled over what is happening in Teheran after a democratic election, than what his own army is doing in three of Iran’s neighboring countries (if we also count Pakistan).

I only hope he doesn’t decide that Iran also needs the same sort of gunpoint democracy that the USA has contributed to in Iraq.

We are constantly told that American soldiers are brave and strong freedom fighters, fighting for a peaceful Central Asia (Middle East) without terrorists. But this area has never been in a worse state, a more unsafe place and riddled with so much war and terror as after USA wanted to send “help”.

The only way president Obama can rid this place of terrorists, is by calling his invasion army home.

Everyone else knows that a divide and conquer strategy is a recipe for suppression, chaos, instability and not a tool for building democracy, trust and stability. You can’t kill a man’s wife and children, run the rest of his family out of the country, put a gun to his head and tell him to respect you and your precious values.

In Europe we learnt this during the Second World War. Hatred towards the Germans has been deep rooted and can some places be found still, after they tried to befriend us with the same kind of bombardment, destruction, killing and pillaging that today is called a campaign for a more democratic and peaceful Iraq.

It is time we all acknowledge this, before we let the Americans bomb a democratic Iran back to Stone Age the same way they have done in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So please President Barack Obama. Don’t send help!
